يقف هذا الديوان الشعري الجديد للشاعر محمد إبراهيم أبو سنة، على رأس وجود شعري متميز لهذا الشاعر الكبير يمتد قرابة نصف قرن منذ نشر قصيدته الأولى في جريدة المساء سنة 1959، وهو امتداد يتألق عبراً كثر من عشرة دواوين، أسهم بها أبو سنة إسهاماً فاعلاً في نهضة الشعر العربي الحديث، انطلاقاً من ديوان "قلبي وغازله الثوب الأزرق" سنة 1965، مروراً بحديقة الشتاء سنة 1969...
بالإضافة إلى مسرحه الشعري وكتاباته النقدية وجهوده الإعلامية التي تدور جلها في محراب الشعر وتترنم بكلماته. فبعض ما قد نجده في هذا الديوان من صور أو كلمات تدفقت في تجارب سابقة للشاعر أو في التراث تدفقت في تجارب سابقة للشاعر أو في التراث الشعري ينبغي أن ينظر إليه في إطار القدرة المبدعة على نسج العلاقات الشعرية، المبهرة إن الكلمات المفردة كثيراً ما ينجح الشاعر في ردها إلى حالتها "البرية" الأولى، التي كان يتحدث عنها سارتر عندما يعجب بقدرة الشعراء الكبار على تجاوز حالة الاستئناس التي تركن إليها "الكلمة" من كثير التعود والنجاح في ادعائها إلى الحالة البرية أو الوحشية الأولى.
