كاتب ومخرج مصرى، تخرج فى قسم الإعلام بالجامعة الأمريكية 2010، عمل منتجا ومخرجا فى مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام، حصل على جوائز أدبية عديدة منها جائزة مهرجان القراءة للجميع 1999 و2001، وأوسكار رجل المستحيل 2005، ومسابقة مادلين لامونت للقصة القصيرة 2006، وجائزة المسابقة الأدبية المركزية من وزارة الثقافة عن روايته "كل شىء مباح فى بيروت".
يعمل حاليا فى مجال الأفلام الروائية والتسجيلية، أخرج أول أفلامه القصيرة بعنوان "أخر سبع دقائق" ورشح لأفضل فيلم فى مسابقة "صنع فى قطر"فى مهرجان الدوحة ترايبكا السينمائى 2011، وحصد فيلمه القصير "طارق" جوائز عديدة فى مصر وشارك فى المسابقة الرسمية لمهرجان الدوحة 2012

واحد وعشرون يومًا خلال صيف 2009 قضيتها فى رحلة طويلة مرهقة، لكنها بالطبع شديدة الإمتاع، من بيروت إلى القاهرة برًّا؛ الرحلة التى لم أرتب لها بدأت فى العاصمة اللبنانية بيروت، المدينة التى لا يمكنك أن تزورها دون أن تنبهر بجمالها وأناقتها ونظامها، ولا يمكنك أن تتخيل أنها قد شهدت حربًا شعواء منذ ثلاث سنوات فحسب، وأنها كانت منذ عشرين عامًا فحسب رمادًا وأنقاضًا بعد خمسة عشر عامًا من الحرب الأهلية. ويضيف: فى بيروت كنت ضمن أكثر من مائة شاب من مختلف دول العالم يقيمون أول نموذج دولى للأمم المتحدة فى لبنان، وكنت رتبت أن ينتهى المؤتمر فأعود أدراجى إلى القاهرة، لكن خططى تغيرت تمامًا عندما قابلت كريس..كان كريس سويسريًا مغرمًا بالحضارة العربية والإسلامية، بهرنى عندما حدثنى عن رحلته الطويلة التى بدأها قبل شهر فى اسطنبول ثم إلى سوريا والأردن وأخيرًا مصر، داعبت أحلامه خيالى، ووجدت نفسى ألمح له إذا كان بإمكانى أن أنضم إليه فى رحلته، فرحب بى بحماس شديد، وهكذا وجدت نفسى أنضم إليه وإلى صديقه "هنرى" لنبدأ معًا رحلتنا عبر بلاد الشام.
