علينا الاقتناع بأنْ لا جدوى في الاستمرار بالشكوى ولوم الآخرين، والتوقّع أنّ أحداً سوانا سوف يستعيد حقّا لنا، أو يقوم بالتغيير الملائم لمصالحنا والمحقق لأمنياتنا. وعلينا كذلك ترسيخ الثقة بأنفسنا وأنّ فينا طاقات لو انتظمت وفعلت لغيّرت الواقع، وربّما وجه التاريخ في المنطقة. ولكن علينا بالدرجة الأولى، أن نعي حقيقةً لا مناص منها، وهي أنّ كلّ نجاح نحققه هو نتيجة الجهود التي نبذلها في سبيل ذلك ولا خيار سوى ذلك للخروج ممّا نحن فيه. " المخاض الذي نحن فيه يفرض التساؤل، كيف سيكون المستقبل، هل سيكون استجابة لآمالنا أو تحقيقاً لكوابيسنا؟ هل سيكون صنيعة الحرّية المستنيرة أم إنتاج ظلاميٌة العبوديّة والجهل؟ هل سنبقى أسرى غرائز بدائيّة ويبقى العقل معطّلاً فينا والربط بين الجهد والنتيجة مغيّباً في حياتنا؟" إعتقادي الراسخ هو أنّ المستقبل ليس مكتوباً علينا، وإنّما هو المستقبل الذي نستحقّ، أي المستقبل الذي نصنعه نحن.”
