موضوع الزواج من أجنبيات وأثره على شخصية الأبناء والذي عالجه الدكتور "يوسف عبد الفتاح" في رسالة الدكتوراه التي تقدم بها عام 1984م. لآداب عين شمس قسم علم النفس تحت موضوع يمكن أن يدخل ضمن العناصر الدخيلة في ثقافة ما. والذي عالجه علماء الانتربولوجيا وعلم النفس وعبر الحضاري على اعتبار أن هذه العناصر الدخيلة من حضارة إلى حضارة. كما أن الزواج من أجنبيات يمكن أن ينظر إليه على أساس أنه نوع من أنواع الغزو الثقافي يجب دراسته دراسة متعمقة مثل الدراسة للدكتور "عبد الفتاح" على آثار ذلك الغزو بالإيجاب أم بالسالب، ويمكن أن ينظر للجوانب السلبية للزواج من أجنبيات في إطار الصراع الذي يقع فيه الأبناء والناتج من وقوعهم أمام توجهات مختلفة من كلا الوالدين تلك التوجهات التي تعكس قيم وتقاليد الأب من جهة، وقيم وتقاليد الأم المختلفة عن قيم وتقاليد الأب من ناحية أخرى. وإضافة إلى ذلك مشكلة الازدواج اللغوي التي يقع فيها الأبناء منذ بداية حياتهم والتي بينت الدراسات أنها اضطرابات نفسية. أما النواحي الإيجابية التي يمكن النظر لها فتمثل أساساً في ضرورة وجود أرضية مشتركة، بين حضارة الأب وحضارة الأم في اللغة والدين والقيم والمعايير الاجتماعية السائدة وفي إطار ذلك يكون زواج العربي من عربية لا من غير الوطن العربي متوقعاً له النجاح والتوافق النفسي والاجتماعي للأبناء ولقد عالج الدكتور يوسف عبد الفتاح هذه المسألة "توافق شخصية الأبناء" باقتدار من الناحية المنهجية العلمية والضبط السليم وقد توصل في هذه الدراسة لعدد من النتائج التي يجب أن ينشغل المسؤولون بها من خلال سن التشريعات التي تحد من الزواج من غير العربية لتنقية عناصر الثقافة العربية لدى الأبناء من النواحي الغربية التي يمكن أن تسهم في نشر الإغراق والجريمة.
