يضم هذا الكتاب بين طياته دراسة تحليلية هدفها تسليط الأضواء على قضايا مختارة من النظام الاقتصادي الإسلام، وتوجيه اهتمام كل من الطالب الجامعي والمدرس والباحث والمستثمر نحو مبادئ الاقتصاد الإسلامي لتعميق فهمهم لقواعده ومرتكزاته وآفاق تطبيقه. وهكذا احتوى الكتاب على عدة فصول خصص الأول منها لشرح بعض المفاهيم الأساسية في علم الاقتصاد بشكل عام، في حين تم تخصيص الفصل الثاني لشرح المفاهيم في الاقتصاد الإسلامي. وتناول الفصل الثالث توضيح مفهوم الربا وآثاره الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. أما الفصل الرابع فخصص لموضوع الإنتاج وعناصر الإنتاج وعوائدها في الاقتصاد الإسلامي. وتناول الفصل الخامس شرح المشكلة الاقتصادية وأساليب مواجهتها. وبحث في موضوعي الاستهلاك والاستثمار والضوابط الإسلامية لهما في الفصلين السادس والسابع. وفي الفصل الثامن تم شرح النظام المصرفي الإسلامي والصيغ الإسلامية لتمويل الاستثمارات، وأسس السياستين النقدية والمالية لتحقيق أهداف التنمية الشاملة في المجتمع الإسلامي. وشرح الفصل التاسع سوق المنافسة الكاملة والمفهوم الإسلامي لها. وخصص الفصل العاشر لتحليل نماذج وأسواق الاحتكار المختلفة. وفي الفصل الحادي عشر تم توضيح الأسس العامة لتدخل الدولة الإسلامية وأسس تدخلها في الاقتصاد الإسلامي. واشتمل الفصل الثاني عشر على مناقشة مفاهيم التنمية الشاملة وعقباتها والمنظور الإسلامي لبلورتها. وأخيراً خصص الفصل الثالث عشر لشرح المفاهيم الخاصة بالتأمين التجاري والتأمين التعاوني الإسلامي.
