دفعني إلى تأليف هذا الكتاب سؤال الكثير من المعلمين عن جودة الآداء في العملية التعليمية. هذا وقد تناولت فيه المعنى اللغوي والإصطلاحي للجودة، ثم مفاهيم ومصطلحات الجودة "المجالين الرئيسيين للجودة"، "المجال الأول": "القدرة المؤسسية" تناولت فيها المجالات الفرعية المشتملة في "رؤية المؤسسة ورسالتها التعليمية، القيادة والحكومة مبيناً أنواع القيادة والقائد، إلخ، أما "المجال الثاني": فهو الفاعلية التعليمية. تناولت فيه الأربع مجالات الفرعية وهي: "المتعلم- المعلم- المنهج- المناخ" تناولت بعد ذلك أداة التقويم السريع للوضع الحالي للمؤسسة التعليمية، تحدثت بعد ذلك عن المعايير وتقييم أداء التلاميذ، فالمؤشرات التعليمية، خصائصها، أهميتها، تصنيفها، نظمها، أمثلتها، يلي ذلك الإعتماد التربوي، ضمان الجودة، تطوير المناهج، إعداد المعلم وتدريبه على طريق تدريس أصوات الحروف وأسمائها وأشكالها، وطريقة نطقها، أما بعد ذلك فتناولت المطلبين الأصليين للجودة ثم المجالات الفرعية، المعايير، المؤشرات، طرق التدريس بأنواعها المختلفة، طريقة المحاضرة، التعلم النشط، التعلم التعاوني، لعب الأدوار التعليمية.
