(نساء الخيال) رواية تعمل على تمجيد الكتابة والإحتفاء بها وإبراز دورها في صياغة الواقع وتنظيمه على أساس نقدي يعبَر عن رؤى الأديب الفكرية لواقع بلاده السياسي والإجتماعي، الذي يعيش في ظله ملايين الخائفين، فمجرد الإشتباه في عدم الولاء للدولة، وقول الكلمة الخطأ في الوقت الخطأ، يمكن أن يرسلا شخصاً بريئاً إلى حتفه. تحكي الرواية قصة معلم مدرسة يبدو نموذجياً، ومثالياً ولكن لم يستطع ترويض نفسه على استقبال أي سلطة آمرة... يقول: ... بدا لي أن أي غمغمة أو همهمة، تخطر على بال أي حزب، سرعان ما تظهر على صورة دوريات اعتقال، أو كتب استدعاء، أو زيارات تهديد ووعيد، تخلل، او تدمر الفكرة الوليدة... الحقيقة هي أنني لم أكن معادياً لأحد (سأظل أكرر هذا) ولكني بالمقابل لم أتمكن من أن أروض نفسي على استقبال أي سلطة آمرة، فضلاً عن أنني أجد الأمر برمته مضحكاً، حين ألتقي شخصاً يقاتل من أجل أفكار اليسار، بالقوة والإيمان، والطهارة التي يقاتل بها شخص أخر من أجل قيم وأفكار اليمين (...) ولهذا فإن مسألة الأفكار ما تزال ملتبسة عندي كيف يمكن أن يرضى إنسان بالسجن من أجل فكرة؟(...)". هذا العمل يدور في فضاء الحرية، فضاء التجربة، المطلقة يحاكي الواقع ويدخل في صميم العلاقة الملتبسة بين المحاكم والمحكوم ما يترك للقارئ حرية التأويل والترجمة بحسب الواقع الذي ينتمي إليه.
