الكتاب من تحقيق أبي معاوية مازن بن عبد الرحمن البحصلي البيروتي. شكوة المصابيح للشيخ ولي الدين أبي عبد الله الخطيب العمري التبريزي وشرحه هو "مرعاة المفاتيح" للشيخ أبي الحسن عبيد الله بن محمد المباركفوري، وهو كتاب يحتوي على الفوائد الجليلة ونفائس الأبحاث التي يحتاجها المشتغلون بعلم الحديث الشريف. كما أنه يغني عن كثير من الكتب في باب تخريج الأحاديث وتنقيحها. وقد عمد مؤلفه إلى توضيح الأحاديث وشرحها وذكر معانيها المشتملة على مسائل الفقه والكلام المعول عليها غير السلف الصالح. إضافة إلى أنه عنى بالإجابة عن المطاعن التي يوردها المقلدون على مسالك فقهاء أهل الحديث في شروحهم وحواشيهم وتعليقاتهم على كتب الحديث. كما التزم تخريج ما أورده المؤلف من أحاديث الصحيحين، والتزم الكلام على أحاديث غير الصحيحين وبين درجتها من الصحة أو الضعف، وذكر اختلاف الفقهاء وأقوالهم في المسائل الخلافية مع سرد حجج هذه الأقوال.
