قام داروين فى كتابه بعنوان « نشأه الإنسان » والانتقاء المتعلق بالجنس فى عام 1781 بإرسال نظريته الخاصه بالانتقاء الجنسى مناديًا بأن الكائنات البشريه قد تم استنباطها عن حيوانات رئيسيه عليا. وبعد مرور عام ، تم نشر كتاب « التعبير عن الانفعالات فى الإنسان والحيوانات » ثم تلا ذلك تأثيرات التهجين والتلقيح الذاتى الخاصه بالفطر النباتى من خلال المفعول الخاص بالديدان فى عام 1881. وقد توفى عام 1882 نتيجه لأزمه قلبيه.
