يقول المولى عز وجل "أفلا ينظرون إلى الإبل كيف خلقت" وفي خلقتها تدبر وآيات كثيرة يدرك منها الإنسان عظمة الخالق في خلقه، فالإبل كانت منذ قديم الزمان انيسة الإنسان في صحرائه ومنفعة له في سكنه وترحاله، وعلى الرغم من انحسار دور الإبل كوسيلة مواصلات تتحمل الصعب من الظروف والمشاق، إلا أن لها دوراً هاماً في إمداد الإنسان بلحومها وألبانها وصوفها، خاصة بعد تأكيد العلم الحديث على أهمية ألبانها وفوائدها من قدرة عظيمة على أمراض عديدة، فصار لتربيتها أهمية صحية واقتصادية على السواء، ولكن عماد هذه التربية هي "العلم" والإلمام بالأسس العلمية الحديثة والطرق الصحيحة في تربيتها، وهو ما يوفره هذا المرجع العلمي الهام الذي قدمه الأستاذ الدكتور "محمد خيري إبراهيم"، متناولاً فيه كافة التفاصيل، وذلك من تقديمه الكثير عن تعداد الإبل واستئناسها، وصفاتها التشريحية وتكوين جسمها والصفات الموفلوجية لها، كذلك قد بين عائلتها، وذلك قبل أن يوضح طرق تربيتها ونقل الأجنة وعملية التناسل في الإبل، وقد أفرد المؤلف الجزء التالي من الكتاب العملية التغذية، هذا قبل أن يتناول الأمراض الهامة التي تصيب الأبل والوقاية والعلاج منها ليختتم الجزء الأخير بحديث عن استخدامها في السباقات، وأخيراً عن الحداء في الشعائر الإسلامية.
