هو : الشيخ أحمد عز الدين البيانوني ، الملقب بأحمد الصياد .
ابن الشيخ عيسى البيانوني رحمهما اللّه .
والبيانوني : نسبة إلى قرية « بيانون » التي تقع شمالي مدينة حلب على بعد خمسة عشر ( كيلو مترًا ) تقريبًا وهي مسقط رأس والده الشيخ عيسى رحمه اللّه تعالى .
ولد الشيح أحمد عام 1330 هـ 1913 م في مدينة حلب ، واستقر مقامه فيها مع والده رحمه اللّه تعالى ، وكان والده من كبار علماء البلاد المشهورين بالعلم والتقوى والصلاح .
عمل المؤلف في حقول التربية والتعليم المختلفة ، حتى طلب الإحالة إلى التقاعد عام 1968 م .
كان مهتمًّا بالدعوة الإسلامية عامة ، والتربية العملية خاصة ، آخذًا بالعزائم حريصًا على الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر ، حتى عرف بذلك في نفسه وأسرته وإخوانه ومحبيه ...
انطلق عام 1965 م في تكوين مدرسة تربوية خاصة نسبت إليه ، وعرفت فيما بعد باسم « جماعة أبي ذر » نسبة إلى مكان تأسيسها ، حيث نشأت في جامع أبي ذر في حي الجبيلة بحلب .
اهتمت هذه الجماعة بالتربية الإسلامية الدقيقة ، وعنيت بتنشئة الشباب فيها على القدوة العملية الصالحة ، في مجالات الحياة كافة .
كما عني ( رحمه اللّه تعالى ) بكتابة ونشر الكتب الإسلامية ذات الحجم الصغير ، وألّف في ذلك سلسلة العقائد ، وسلسلة العبادات ، وسلسلة من هدي الإسلام ، حتى زادت مؤلفاته فيها على عشرين كتيبًا .
وقد لاقت مؤلفاته هذه قبولًا واسعًا في مختلف المستويات والبلدان نظرًا لما تمتاز به من أسلوب سهل ميسر ، ومادة علمية نافعة .
تُوفي رحمه اللّه يوم الجمعة 17 ذي الحجة 1395 هـ الموافق 19 كانون الأول 1975 م ودفن في مقبرة الأعرابي في مدينة حلب ، رحمه اللّه تعالى رحمة واسعة ، وأقر عينه بالثواب الجزيل ، والأجر المستمر إن شاء اللّه إلى يوم الدين .
ومن نظر إليها باستحسان شيء منها فقد أهلكها .
