للكتابة النسائية إغراءاتها وللنقد غوايته، ولهذا الكتاب سيرته التي تحكي رحلته حين كان رسالة جامعية قيل عنها إنها أول دراسة عن الرواية النسائية السعودية وما تبع ذلك من مراجعات وإضافات اقتضتها متطلبات واعتبارات، ليخرج الكتاب من منهجية الجامعة ذات التقاليد العريقة العالية الأسوار إلى عالم آخر يشبه ذلك العالم الذي تبحث عنه المرأة في روايتها، بحيث لا يضيق الهامش ولا يطغى المتن، ولا يغيب المصدر المرجع، أو يلقي السطر السطر الذي تحته.
إن مفردات مثل العار والحرام والعيب والممنوع هي مفاتيح لقضايا لا تقل في تأثيرها عما يتحدث عنه العالم من قضايا الطبقية والاستعباد والعنصرية والاحتلال. ولهذا تتليس المسائل الاجتماعية كثيراً من المسائل ذات الطابع السياسي أو المعرفي من خلال عالم تضج رموزه الفنية بمعاني الرغبة في الخلاص. وإلى جانب هذا فقد رصدت الرواية النسائية جوانب مهمة من التحولات الاجتماعية والتغيرات الحضارية للمجتمع السعودي، ونقلت كثيراً من عاداته وتقاليده وأنماط معيشته ومشاكل حياته كما وقفت عند المسكوت عنه والمضمر في بنيته الثقافية.
والرواية النسائية ليست بريئة من كيد النساء ومكرهن اللغوي والفني الذي تجلى في التعاطي مع بعض الشخصياتن ومن خلال استخدام تقنيات معينة صح للمرأة معها أن تهز القناعات ليعيد المجتمع النظر في كثير من القضايا التي مضى حين من الدهر وهي لا تزال في أوضاع مقلوبة لا تتصالح مع حقائق الواقع الإنساني. ولهذا فإن البحث عن الحصوصية في أساليب تعامل الكاتبات مع الشخصيات وتيار الوعي وكيفية بناء اللغة وتأثيث الأمكنة ومواجهة الأحداث والزمن، كل هذه الأمور جديرة بأن تكون ضمن مستويات أفق التوقع لتلقي الكتابة النسائية.
