الشباب الذين شاخوا لن يقرأوا هذا الكتاب فهو لم يكتب لهم . أقضي عطلتي في كوخ من صفائح الخشب ، على ارتفاع 900 متر عن سطح البحر . الباب على معبد " سيدة الصنوبر " حيث تبدو ضمن اطار مذهب ، صورة القديسة تيريزيا الصغيرة وهي تبتسم مداعبة بالورد ، مصلوبها ...... في الخارج ، عاصفة من المطر تعطل السير على طرقات الجبل ، وتجبرك على البقاء ، في الداخل ، عند مذبح قديم قد من خشب ابيض ، ... في هذا المناخ و كنت اكتب واقفا على سلم صغير . قلت ، واقفا ، لكيما أرى هذه الصفحة الاولى التي اريد أن تكون مدخلا ، قد أنجزت قبالة بيت القربان المقدس حيث يقيم من وهبته حياتي ، ومن لا ارفض أن اهبه تفاصيل حياتي وهذه الصفحات والاشياء الاخرى ... لقد وضع هذا الكتاب للشباب من كل العمار ، لمن لا يزالون يعيشون في الاوهام وهم فخورون بذلك ، للذين ينتظرون شيئا من هذه الحياة يطمحون الى ان يكون لهم ، منه ، منفعة ما ، وللذين يحسون طعم الانجازات في نور المثال الاعلى . هذا المثال الاعلى هو تفتح كل قوانا البشرية ، هذا النور هو حياة وتعليم يسوع الناصري ، ابن الله ، الذي عاش على الارض قبل الفي سنة والذي ، بحمبة منه ، مات لاجل خلاصنا . هذا الطموح هو انتصار القوى الروحية على المادة ، هذه الاوهام تعني الاعتقاد ان شباب مجتمعنا الحديث انما هم قادرون على الاتيان بعظائم الامور ... خطيئة الشباب ؟ لا بأس .. هكذا كان يقال عن فلان من الناس ذي شأن شغف بانقياد الجماهير للمسيح ، فراح يشاركها بحكمة وشجاعة . أتمنى ان يرتكب الشباب خطايا كثيرة من هذا النوع ، ...وأن يكون هذا الكتاب واحدة منها .
