Book Description
ابن حجاج ? - 391 هـ / ? - 1001 م حسين بن أحمد بن محمد بن جعفر بن محمد بن الحجاج، النيلي البغدادى، أبو عبد الله. شاعر فحل، من كتاب العصر البويهيّ. غلب عليه الهزل. فى شعره عذوبة وسلامة من التكلف. قال الذهبي: (شاعر العصر وسفيه الأدب وأمير الفحش! كان أمة وحده فى نظم القبائح وخفة الروح). وقال صاحب النجوم الزاهرة: (يضرب به المثل في السخف والمداعبة والأهاجي) وقال ابن خلكان: (كان فرد زمانه، لم يسبق إلى تلك الطريقة)، وقال أبو حيان: (بعيد من الجدّ، قريع فى الهزل، ليس للعقل من شعره منال، على أنه قويم اللفظ سهل الكلام) وقال الخطيب البغدادي: (سرد أبو الحسن الموسوي، المعروف بالرضي، من شعره فى المديح والغزل وغيرهما، ما جانب السخف فكان شعراً حسناً متخيراً جيداً)، وقال ابن كثير: (جمع الشريف الرضي أشعاره الجيدة على حدة فى ديوان مفرد، ورثاه حين توفي) له معرفة بالتاريخ واللغات. اتصل بالوزير المهلبي وعضد الدولة وابن عباد وابن العميد. وله (ديوان شعر-خ) يشتمل على بعض شعره. أرسل نسخة منه إلى صاحب مصر فأجازه بألف دينار. وخدم بالكتابة فى جهات متعددة. وولي حسبة بغداد مدة، وعزل عنها. نسبته إلى قرية النيل (على الفرات بين بغداد والكوفة) ووفاته فيها. ودفن في بغداد.
