"جامع السعادات" كتاب إسمه يعلن عمّا فيه من مضمون، وهو يحتوي على كل العلوم والمعارف التي تؤدي إلى السعادة الحقيقية، وفيه جواب عن كل سؤال، وعلاج معظم الأمراض الروحية والنفسية والجسدية لكل نفس تطلب السعادة الدائمة.
هذا الشعور الجميل هو ما استدعى اهتمام الأستاذة حياة شمس الدين لوضع مختصر لهذا الكتاب الثمين ووسمه بعنوان "مختصر جامع السعادات للتراقي" لنكتشف مع قراءته حقائقاً وكنوزاً من العلم والمعرفة تركها لنا هذا العالم الجليل "التراقي" والذي يقول فيه: "تزكية النفس موقوفة على معرفة الصفات المهلكة والصفات المنجية، والعلم بأسبابها ومعالجاتها، والوصول إلى الحكمة الحقة الموجبة للسعادة الأبدية ...". وانطلاقاً من هذه المقدمة التي يفتتح بها صاحب السعادات كتابه، يتضح أن مضمون الكتاب مبني على سبل تحسين الأخلاق وتهذيبها، كما أرادتها الشريعة الإسلامية السمحة، وبيّنت تفاصيلها، وعلى هذا الدرب سار علماء الحكمة والعرفان وغيرهم من أهل الملل والأديان.
ولكن ما ورد منها منتشر في مواد مختلفة ومتفرق في مواضيع متعددة، وقد تمّ جمع ما ورد في الشريعة الحقة، مع زبدة ما أورده أهل العرفان والحكمة في هذا الكتاب "جامع السعادات".
