هذه النصوص لم تعرفها اللغة العربية فى أى عصر من عصورها، بل ربما لم تسمع الثقافة العربية بها منذ العهد العباسى حتى اليوم. فحسب الوثائق التاريخية التى توفرت لدى، أقدم محمد بن أحمد البيروني فى العصر العباسى على ترجمة جزء من "بهاجافاد جيتا" ولكن لسوء الحظ ضاعت مخطوطته ولم يعثر عليها حتى اليوم. والبهاجافاد جيتا هو أحد الكتب المقدسة الرئيسية فى الديانة الهندوسية، وهو ما كانت أعود إليه دائما أثناء ترجمتى لنصوص الأوبانيشاد، لأتأكد من دقة المعانى وصحة التأويلات، مستعينا بعدد من الترجمات الغربية بلغات متلفة وهى جميعها منقولة مبشارة من (السانسكريت) لغة النصوص الأصلية. بقى أن أقدم اعتذاراً مسبقاً لمعتنقى الدين الهندوسى خشية أن أكون قد ارتكتب أى هفوة فى تأويلى وترجمتى.
