(صح أحمد) هززت رأسي بخوف.. لكزني قليلاً بعصاه (إذا يا أحمد أخبرني، من فعلها؟) بلغ بي الخوف أقصاه، ملاً راعش مثل بدني... لا، لا،لا أعرف أستاذ). جالت عينيه المخيفتين في أنحاء الفصل تبحث عن متهم، نحن أرانب في جحورها خائفة وهو فوق جيله، صقر يستعد للانقضاض، سيعاقبنا الكل يتشاءم، قال: حسناً، لا درس هذا اليوم من المنهج، الدرس من عندي، وعنوانه "الأخلاق". لازلت أنظر إليه بخوف، زمجر في الفصل وأستل عصاته المرعبة كسيف وقوف. خطي سيئ أول من توجع أنا العصاة اللعينة. كل زملائي يتوجعون والكل أخذ نصيبه. كم أتمنى أن أسرق هذه العصاة نذوق ضربها صيفاً وشتاء. أود بشدة أن أسرقها أحطمها أحرقها. إنه يحتفظ بها للعام الثاني، ألا تنكسر؟! ألا تضيع؟!.. أنا لا أحبه، ولا أحب المدرسة بسببه، عليهم أن ينقلونه أو يسموا هذه المدرسة التعيسة باسمه! لا أستطيع، أمي تجبرني على الذهاب إلى المدرسة.. (أمي الأستاذ يضربنا كل يوم)... تستحقون لأنكم مشاكسون فقط، اجتهدوا). تباً أمي غبية أم ماذا؟ لا أحب أن يضربني أستاذ ناجي.. ليس مهماً أن يؤدي الواجبات المنزلية، أقصد أنه لا يجب أن تكون كثيرة ومرهقة!!" من شوارع إحدى القرى البحرينية لملم أحمد المؤذن شخوص قصصه القصيدة هذه، محاولاً من خلالها رسم ملامح عامة لحياة مجموعة من الناس عاشوا في الظل حياة هادئة كل ما فيها طبيعي وبريء ولا ينم إلا عن طيبة خالصة وتفكير سليم. وبأسلوبه السلس الساخر استطاع الكاتب أن يصف المجتمع بعد أن انتقى شخصيات قصصه، محركاً إياها كما يريد ومعبراً على لسانها عما يريد تغييره من سلبيات رآها هو في مجتمعه البسيط المنكل بالحب تارة وبالغض تارة أخرى.
