تحمل القصص في مضمونها الكثير من لحظات التورط التي يمكن أن يجد الإنسان نفسه من دون أن يشعر، وما تتركه من ندوب واضحة يصعب الخروج منها أو محوها؛ ففي القصة التي افتتح بها الروائي المجموعة (أحاسيس أسمنتيه تتصدع)، يصادف صاحب سيارة (الهامر) في طريقه فتاة بغاء، ويتعرض لموقف سخيف ظن أنه نجا منه "وأفلت من تلك الأفعى" ولكن ما أن يدخل منزل عائلته حتى تنتظره مفاجأة "أنت السيد محمود صاحب السيارة رقم (...) –نعم أنا هو، خير إن شاء الله- أكلمك من مركز شرطة العاصمة، عندي هنا شابة تتمسك بالإعتداء على عرضها وشرقتها!!".
تضم المجموعة (35) قصة قصيرة نذكر من عناوينها "قفتها من حزن"، وهي مستريحة"، "ثمن الظلمة"، "مناوبة ليلية"...إلخ.
