كاتب سعودي وباحث في الإسلام السياسي, من مواليد 1942م في مدينة مكة.
نشأ في جدة متزوج ولديه بنت وولد واحد, له الكثير من المؤلفات في مجال كتب الاطفال تتجاوز الـ 300 كتاب.
كان رئيساً لتحرير مجلة حسن للاطفال التي تصدر عن جريدة عكاظ وحالياً يعمل رئيساً لصحيفة السلطة الرابعة.
له العديد من المؤلفات في الإسلام السياسي منها: تقويم الفكر الديني المتمرد على الإسلام 2009 م اصلاح الفكر الديني أولاً 2006 م الاستبداد عند خير أمة اخرجت للناس 2007م الاصلاح السياسي هدف الامر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر 2005 م قالوها في الحارة ( مجموعة امثال حجازية ) الفلكلور السعودي المصور .

يضم الكتاب عددا كبيرا من المقالات الصحفية لطيف واسع من الكتاب السعوديين، ويتكون الكتاب من أربعة أجزاء تحتوي على عشرات المقالات التي نشرت في الصحف المحلية وغيرها، ويدور في مجمله حول معارك من يسمون أنفسهم بالتنويريين في مواجهة التقليدين وقد حمل الكتاب مقالات لكثير من الأسماء منهم إبراهيم البليهي وأحمد بن باز وتركي الحمد وسعيد السريحي وعاصم حمدان وعبدالله بن بخيت وعبدالله المطيري وحمزة المزيني، فيما غابت عنه مقالات لكتاب آخرين لا تقل أهمية حول قضايا التحديث والليبرالية والتنوير، وهو ما يفقد الكتاب الشمولية إضافة إلى الأسلوب التجميعي لمواد ومقالات الكتاب دون تقديم قراءة معمقة للقضية التي دارت حولها هذه المعارك، وغياب المنهجية في الجمع والترتيب.
