هذا الكتاب حصيلة حوار مطول من يناير 2002 حتى ديسمبر 2003 حيث إلتقيت إبراهيم كلستان فيها ثلاث مرات وقد كنت اعمل فترة على مشروع اطروحة الدكتوراة (في جامعة وست مينيستر لندن) عن السينما الايرانية وتحت عنوان "التاريخ التحليلي للجذور الجديدة في سينما إيران" وهي الفترة الواقعة بين عامي 1959 حتى 1969 وتغطي إخراج أول فيلم روائي لفرخ غفاري جنوب المدينة (1959) وحتى إخراج افلام:البقرة (داريوش مهرجويي) وقصير(مسعود كيمائي) والطمئنينة في حضور الآخرين (ناصر تقوائي) في العام 1969، ويتطرق الى اسماء ثلاث مخرجين مبدعين قاموا بخطوات تركت علامات فارقة في السينما الايرانية وهم إبراهيم كلستان وفرخ غفاري وفريدون رهنما. ويرى الكاتب ان ارضية وتفعيل حركة تحت مسمى "الموجة الجديدة" في السينما الايرانية هم من اسسوها وتركوا تأثيرا عميقا على الجيل السينمائي وكان دور ابراهيم كلستان بارزا واكثر تأثيراً من البقية.
