يتناول هذا الكتاب بنية الخلية الجرثومية حيث تتألف من سطح خلوي ومن تركيبات داخلية تقع تحت هذا السطح حيث يتركب السطح الخلوي من المحفظة والجدار الخلوي والجدار السايتوبلازمي ويلعب الجدار الخلوي دوراً هاما في حياة الخلية الجرثومية ويشير أيضا إلى البكتيريا المعوية والتشخيصات العامة لها كما ويذكر الصفات العامة للبكتيريا القولونية خلال وسط الأكار المغذي ووسط ما كوني الصلب ووسط أكار الدم ووسط أكار الايوسين مثيلين الأزرق وينتقل الكتاب إلى الجراثيم المعوية غير المخمر لسكر ألاكتوز غير المتحرك وهي الصفات العامة لبكتيريا الشيكلا والصفات الزراعية لبكتيريا الشيكلا والكوليسين وتصنيف الشيكلا والأمراض لهذا البكتيريا وحسب بكتيريا الشيكلا للمضادات الحيوية ويذكر أيضا البكتيريا المعوية المتحركة غير المخمرة لسكر ألاكتوز المرضية وفيها السالمونيلا و البار سينيا وفيها مقدمة حول بكتيريا السالمونيلا والمستضدات وأنواعها وعزل وتشخيص بكتيريا السالمونيلا والتسمم الغذائي بالسالم ونيلا ثم يشير إلى الجراثيم المرتبطة بالبكتيريا المعوية وأثرها في الصفات العامة لبكتيريا الزوائف ومراضية بكتيريا الزوائف والصفات العامة للمتقلبات أو حسية المتقلبات للمضادات الحيوية ويتناول بكتيريا الضمات ويذكر أنها سالبة لصيغة كرام وغير مكونة للسبورات ومن أمراضها الكوليرا المنتشر في أسيا.
