محمد علي شمس الدين أديب وشاعر من جبل عامل في جنوب لبنان.
ولد في العام 1942 م في بلدة بيت ياحون في جبل عامل (جنوب لبنان) نشأ في بلدة عربصاليم (جنوب لبنان) وفيها ترعرع وكبر حائز على دكتوراة دولة في التاريخ، كما يحمل إجازة في الحقوق تفتحت موهبته الشعرية باكرا، ويعتبر من طليعة شعراء الحداثة في العالم العربي منذ العام 1973 وحتى الآن، وقد شارك في العديد من المهرجانات الشعرية في البلاد العربية ويعكف على كتابة مقالات نقدية وأدبية عن الشعر والأدب والفكر في المجلات والصحف اللبنانية والعربية، وهو عضو الهيئة الإدارية في اتحاد الكتّاب اللبنانيين.

"أنا أنتظرك في اكتمال عذابي السري سيدتي، وفي الزمن الضرير تتوهج الحمى ولون الورد في شفتيك تبتدئ الطقوس وتنتهي وترف عند جبينك اللهبي أذرعة السعير، صدئت يدي كمقابض الفولاذ، سيدتي وكالشفق الأخير، آتيك أزحف قطة عمياء بعض أهلة سوداء تقذفها السماء إلى الجحيم تكتظ بي كل الشوارع أستحيل سحابة حمراء تسقط تارة وأمد بين مفاصل الآلات وأوردتى وتعلكني أبالسة الغبار أناشيد الجثث الرديئة، راحل أبدأ وتتبعني، وأعلم أنها خدمي ومملكتي واعلم أنها إرثي وإرث أبي وخاتمة المسار، لم تعلمي أني ادخرتك في شواظ النجم أغرسها على لحمي، فتطلع موسماً للورد آونة وآونة يعذبني دواري وقبلتني، لم تعلمي آني سأطلع من جبينك برعماً (دموية وأوراقه). هذا ديوان يجمع بين طياته عدداً لا يستهان به من القصائد التي تتناول أو تستدعي موضوعاً إنسانياً، كعنصر محرك للعمل الوجداني ومن عناوين هذه القصائد نذكر: فاتحة للنار في خرائب الجسد، قصائد مهربة إلى حبيبتي آسيا، تجليات الورد والحمى، وارتعاشات اللحظة الأخيرة، حوارية الظل والملكة، مرئية العاشق، السير على الرمال المتحركة.
