ولد في قرية شبطين شمال لبنان وعمل في الصحافة العربية في بيروت ولندن وباريس قبل هجرته الى استراليا في أواخر عام 1988 وما زال يعمل في مجال الصحافة في أستراليا كما أنه يكتب لعدد من الصحف في الدول العربية صدر له عدة دواوين: ليس للمساء أخوة - 1981 المياه المياه - 1983 رجل في هواء مستعمل يقعد ويفكر في الحيوانات - 1985 مقعد راكب غادر الباص - 1987 بسبب غيمة على الأرجح - 1992 محاولة وصل ضفتين بصوت - 1997 نص الغياب - 1999 غبار - 2001 رتق الهواء - 2005

أشعار "وديع سعادة" تطمح دائماً إلى الغوص في الموضوع الكوني والمأزق الوجودي وسؤال الذات، يلفت إلى ذلك في أعماله الشعرية التي امتازت بتقنيات شعرية، ولغة خلاقة، استطاع أن يوظف خلالها ألفاظه توظيفاً دلالياً مميزاً مطابقاً للمعاني التي أرادها، يتبدى ذلك بوضوح في مجموعته الشعرية التي حملت عنوانين "قل للعابر أن يعود نسي هنا ظله، ويليه... من أخذ النظرة التي تركتها أمام الباب؟) إذ يقذف بنا في عالمه الشعري الذي يشكل رحلة الذات نفسها من الظلمة إلى النور، وهذا إن دل على شيء فإنما يدلّ على أصالة وقدرة على إيقاظ الحس الإنساني لدى المتلقي...
في قصيدة بعنوان [النائمون على الحافة] يقول: "النائمون على الحافة جميلون... لا النهار لهم ولا الطريق... ليس عليهم أن يروا ولا أن يمشوا... النائمون على الحافة... وصلوا... كانت على الطرقات شاحنات تصمُّ الآذان... وشوارع ومفارق يدورون فيها عمياناً... كانوا يبحثون عن مكان، لا إشارة له... يبحثون عن طريق، لا مفرق لها ولا علامة... فناموا على الحافة... ووصلوا... في نومهم".
من عناوين المجموعة نذكر: الطريق، الذي غرق، انظر إلى الجبل، غيوم، رغبة... إلخ.
