يهدف هذا الكتاب أن يكون دليلاً يقدم تحليلاً ما للغة الجنسوية، في مسعى نحو نموذج علمي لتخليص اللغة العربية من صفتها الذكورية الطاغية، ويسبق ذلك دراسةٌ أوليةٌ لظاهرة الجنسوية، ثم تجليها في عددٍ مهمٍ من الدراسات والإنتاج المطبوع قديمه وحديثه.
ولعل هذا الكتاب هو الأول من نوعه في المكتبة العربية بمبتغاه النهائي، وقد سبقته جهود لا تنكر في مجال نقد الكتب المدرسية وأدب الطفل وغيرهما، وما تتضمنه من مفاهيم ذكورية وتنميط لكل من المرأة والرجل، وهي الجهود التي فتحت عيني على حقيقة التحيز الذكوري الصارخ في ثقافتنا الماضية والمعاصرة، مما دفعني إلى القيام بدراساتٍ تتناول الجنسوية في الأدب القديم والحديث، آخرها - عند الإنتهاء - بحث سأتقدم به لنيل درجة الدكتوراه من جامعة إكسترا / بريطانيا عن (صورة المرأة في أدب الأطفال العربي المعاصر).
غير أن هذا الإهتمام اتخذ لديَّ منحى جديداً، تبلور في معالجة اللغة، وتنقيتها وتحويلها إلى لغة عادلة ومتوازنة، فاللغة إرثٌ إنسانيٍّ إجتماعيٍّ لا يمكن تغييره بين ليلةٍ وضحاها، وما هذه الدراسة وما سيتلوها إلا محاولات لتنبيه الذهن العربي إلى ضرورة القيام بمجهودات دائمة ومستمرة ويقظة لخلخلة الجمود في الإرث اللغوي، وتفعيل ملامح الصحة والعافية فيه، والتفكير - لا على مستوى النظر فحسب بل على مستوى الإستعمال - بالوسائل والأدوات التي تجعل من اللغة العربية لغة الجنسين.
