كنّا نَخلو إلى بعضِنا في سكينةِ البيتِ الوحيدِ المتطرِّفِ بينَ التِّلالِ.
ونبكي ما شاءَ لنا البكاءُ كلَّما شهقَ الفجرُ وهو يشهَدُ صَحْوَنا المشبوبَ.
وكُنَّا نتبادلُ الرسائلَ ونحنُ على بساطٍ واحدٍ لا يفصلُ بيننا غيرُ عصير ٍقَديمٍ
وماءِ الوَلَهِ الصَّافي.
وكنّا إثرَ كلِّ رسالةٍ نتعانقُ عناقاً طويلاً كأنَّنا على فراقٍ.
ونتواعدُ أنْ نتشابكَ في الحياةِ كما في المماتِ. وكنتُ أدقُّ على صدري
وأقولُ: سأظلُّ أحبُّك َحتّى أَموتَ أنا. وكان هو يلطِمُ على صدرِهِ حتى
يبقِّعَ بالدمِ: سأظلُّ أحبُّكِ حتى يموتَ الكونُ.....
وما عتمَ فجرٌ أنشهقَ شهقتَهُ الأخيرةَ وهو يشهدُنا
وقد تساقَطْنا في جُبِّ المحنةِ.
