نتبنى في البحث الذي نقدمه هنا البرنامج الأدنوي المقترح في شومسكي (1992،1995،1998،1999) إطارا نظريا للعمل. وينبني هذا البرنامج، مثل النماذج التوليدية السابقة، على الفرضية الفطرية العامة التي مفادها أن الإنسان يملك قدرة لغوية، وهذه القدرة مكون /قالب من قوالب الذهن/ الدماغ البشري المخصصة للغة. وتتضمن اللغة نسقا معرفيا يخزن معلومات عن الصوت و المعنى وعن التنظيم البنيوي للعبارات. وتقوم الأنساق الخارجية أو أنساق الإنجاز باستعمال هذه المعلومات. ومن الناحية التقنية، تبلغ الأنساق الخارجية المعلومات اللغوية من خلال مستويين وجيهيين: مستوى وجيهة الصورة المنطقية الذي يتماس مع أنساق الفكر، ومستوى الصورة الصوتية الذي يتماس مع النسق النطقي الإدراكي أو ألأنساق الحسية الحركية بشكل عام. وضمن هذا الإطار، يمكن النظر إلى اللغة باعتبارها جهازا يولد العبارات في صورة: عبارة =(صوت، معنى)، ويقدم الصوت المعلومات الملائمة للأنساق الحسية الحركية، ويقدم المعنى المعلومات لإنساق الفكر.
