يعتبر هذا الكتاب المخل للتعريف على ظاهرة إنسانية اختص بها الخالق جل وعلا الإنسان عن غيره من المخلوقات ولقد سعى المؤلف في هذا الكتاب إلى إعطاء القارئ الكريم لمحه تاريخه عن تاريخ الإبداع الفني وعن مفهوم إبداع والقدرات الإبداعية وعلاقة الإبداع بالذكاء والعمر والاستدلال وبنظريات الشخصية وبالتربية والأعصاب والدماغ كما تطرق إلى طرق الكشف عنه والى أبعاده وأنواعه والعوامل المؤثرة فبه والى القدرات الإبداعية هذا في الوحدة الأولي أما الثانية فقد اشتملت على النظريات إبداع الفلسفة ونظريات العبقرية والنظريات الترابطية ونظريات القياس إلى آخره أما الثالثة فقد تطرق المؤلف إلى الإبداع والشخص من كافة الجوانب النمائية والمعرفية والمنطقية والحدسية والعاطفية والحسية أما الرابعة فتناولت دراسة الإبداع وأساليب دراسته واختيار المبدعين وعرض المؤلف بعض الدراسات في مجال الإبداع أما الخامسة فقد تطرق إلى القياس الإبداع مثل اختبارات جيلفورد وثرانس وفي السادسة تحدث عن العوامل نجاح الإبداع والى دور الأسرة والمدرسة أما الثامنة فتطرقت إلى التفكير الإبداعي وطرق تنميته في حين تطرقت الوحدة التاسعة إلى الإبداع الصغار من عمر 2-8 سنوات والوحدة العاشرة إلى تقييم إبداع الصغار.
