من مواليد بلدة مغدوشة، لبنان الجنوبي، 1970.
أنهى شهادته المدرسية في لبنان ثم انتقل إلى جنوب أفريقيا سنة 1990، حيث تابع دراسته العليا وحاز شهادة في المعلوماتية.
يعمل ويقيم حالياً في مدينة جوهانسبرغ.
متأهل وله ولدان.
شارك في عدد من لجان الاغتراب، وكتب مقالات تعالج حياة الغربة وتحدياتها.
"حقائب الذاكرة" روايته الأولى، وصلت إلى القائمة الطويلة للجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية 2012.
Book Description
في مطار بيروت حقائب "ضائعة"، يتمّ البحث عن أصحابها والإتصال بهم، فإمّا أن يأتوا لأخذها، وإمّا أن تبقى "منسية" في المستودع، هناك أيضاً "اليتامى"، وهي حقائب لم ينجح الموظّفون في التعرّف إلى أصحابها... حتّى وصول "إيهاب علاّم" إلى قسم الجمارك. يقرّر هذا الموظّف، الّذي فقد أباه وهو طفل في ظروف غامضة في بداية الحرب اللبنانية، وكرّس حياته للبحث عنه، أن يحلّ لغز "يتامى" المطار الخمس، داخل كلّ حقيبة حكاية، ترويها الأشياء لمن يُحسن الإصغاء إليها، ومع إكتشاف صاحب كلّ حقيبة، تكتمل قصّة مختلفة، عُلِّق مصيرُها في فصل من فصول الحرب. في البحث عن الآخر، يجد "إيهاب" ذاته، وفي إستعادته طفولته، يُدرك معنى الحياة: يسترجع الأمل، ويمتحن الصداقة، ويكتشف الحبّ، فتكتمل أيضّاً قصّته. رواية مشوّقة، حبكتْها صُدف الحياة ونزوات القدر، بطلها شابّ يمثّل جيلاً مّمن دهمتهم الحرب في طفولتهم، فطبعت مصيرهم إلى الأبد.
