تتناول فكرة العمل حياة طفلة – من المشهد الأول- تودعها والدتها التي تتزوج رجلا آخر وتعود بناء على ذلك الطفلة لتعيش ضمن عائلة الأب الجديدة وتحت تسلط زوجته. ثم تنتقل في مرحلة زمنية إلى مدرسة داخلية في لبنان وتعود في مرحلة الجامعة إلى وطنها ويخالف والدها أعراف المجتمع بتزويجها من شاب مصري حتى يحقق ما أرادت ويتخلص من عقدة الذنب التي خلقت لديه من إهماله لابنته. ثم تتواصل الأحداث بعودة العلاقة بينها وبين والدتها وتنجب طفلين مصريين لا يحظيان بالكثير بسبب جنسيتهما.
