كاتب وأستاذ جامعي (دكتوراه في العلوم البيولوجية)، يعمل حالياً أستاذاً جامعياً في كلية الزراعة، بجامعة تشرين — اللاذقية — سورية.
له عدة كتب مترجمة عن الروسية: «يوم واحد من حياة إيفان دينيسوفيتش» و«دار ماتريونا» و«حادثة في محطة كاتشيتوفكا»، لألكسندر سولجينيتسن، صدرت في مجلّد واحد، عن دار المدى عام ١٩٩٩.
قصص من المعتقلات، لفارلام شالاموف، نشرت تحت عنوان «القادم من الجحيم»، عن دار الحصاد، ١٩٩٨.
«فلسفة الأسطورة»، لأليكسي لوسيف، صدرت عن دار الحوار في طبعتين، ٢٠٠٥ و٢٠٠٨.
يكتب في الصحافة العربية، بصورة أساسية، ومن زوايا مختلفة، ثقافية وسوسيولوجية، عن قضية الحرية وعن الأدب المقاوم للاستبداد.
هذه هي روايته الأولى، وهي من طبيعة ما سبقت الإشارة إليه.

في هذه الرواية يفرُّ أحمد، السوري الشريد، من جحيم بلاده إلى موسكو، التي حصَّل فيها تعليمه الجامعي قبل سنوات، من دون هدف أو تذكرة عودة، كل ما يحمله معه هو وعد بالعودة يقطعه لحبيبته، التي تتواصل معه عبر الهاتف، ناقلة يوميات الموت المهولة. وفي موسكو لا يجد ضالَّته بل تستدرجه متاهة جديدة، بحثًا عن حقيقة اختفاء زوجة صديقه، آمِلاً أن يثبت عدم فرارها مع رجل آخر، ويمنع جريمة حتمية. وهنا يبدو أن إنقاذ قصة حبٍّ هو آخر ما يمكن لأحمد أن يفعله في مواجهة عالم وحشيٍّ يتداعى ويسلب بأبناءه كل أحلامهم.
