لتخطيط منظقة جغرافية محددة يلزم أن يكون التخطيط العمراني لهذاه المنطقة نابعا من ظروفها الطبيعية من أحوال سكانها وطبقا لامكاناتها المتاحة وألا يكون تخطيطها وليد رأى شخصي، وبعد تحليل هذه الدراسات المطلوبة الطبيعية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية وإضافة دراسات علمية عليها يتم الوصول إلى تخطيط صحيح للمنطقة متماشيا مع النظريات العلمية للتخطيط العمراني. وكان لزاما اختيار منطقة معينة لتطبيق نظريات التخطيط العمراني عليها بحيث- بعد استيعابها - يمكن للمخطط تطبيق الدراسة على اى منطقة جغرافية يقوم بتخطيطها آخذا في الاعتبار أن أى منطقة لها ظروف مختلفة.
وهذا الكتاب لا غنى عنه للمهندسين القائمين باعمال هندسة التخطيط العمراني، ولطلبة العمارة والتخطيط العمرانية بكليات الهندسة والدارسين والباحثين بالدراسات العليا لاتباع نظريات هندسة التخطيط العمراني، للوصول إلى تخطيطات علمية صحيحة.
