الليلة الفائتة لم تنم. قضت الليل بأكلمه وهي تحاول ارتداء العدسات اللاصقة السوداء.. لم تثيت فى عينيها إلا بعد معاناة ومئات المحاولات. وحين انتهت سقطت منهكة من التعب. عندما استيقظت كان الوقت قد تأخر على موعد المدرسة، وهذا أجمل، فلديها الآ حجة للذهاب إلى بيت "عايشه" للسؤال عن أخبار اليوم الذي فاتها. اعتادت ألا تخرج إلا للضرورة القصوى. هكذا تبدو مثلهم.. أكثر. كانت قد دفنت عيناها بالكحل. عيون سود كحيلة.. هكذا يحبونها. " ما رأيك بلون عيني؟" تسأل "عائشه" حين لم تعلق على مظهرها الجديد مباشرة. " أوه.. أين ذهب اخضرارهما؟" تتساءل عايشه بعد تمحيص دقيق" ذهب مع الريح" تقول أسمهان ضاحكه. "انتظري حتى يراك حمد .. سيبهره كل هذا الجمال.. إنه مفتون بك" . تقول عايشه ينصف ابتسامه، كان قلب أسمهان قد سقط عند قدميها، وتسلل مختبئا تحت سجادة الغرفة.
