الأسلوب ذلك الشيء السهل الممتنع، نحسّه ولا نعيه، تماماً، فنعبّر عنه تعبيراً دقيقاً، نعيشه ولا ندركه إدراكاً تاماً، يكون في متناول أيدينا، ولا نستطيع التعبير عنه تعبيراً جامعاً مانعاً... فالأسلوب : ذلك الشيء المستعصي رغم الحجم الضخم من الدراسات التي كتبت حوله، فهو الشيء الذي يقف شامخاً أمام كلّ باحث يقدم على دراسته، وكأنه يدرس للمرّة الأولى. فالأسلوب سمة عامة لكل شيء في الحياة، ولكل جماعة أسلوبها الخاص، ولكل فرد أسلوبه الخاص في كلّ منحى من مناحي الحياة ... ولكل نوع من أنواع الأدب المختلفة أسلوبه الخاص... ويلاحظ الباحث أن تعريف الأسلوب والأسلوبية... قد وصل إلى أكثر من ثمانين تعريفاً، بعضها تتقارب وبعضها الآخر يتدافع ويتخالف ويتناقض مع التعريفات الأخرى... وكثرت الأبحاث الأسلوبية في الغرب، لدرجة أنها وصلت إلى أكثر من ستة آلاف بحث أو دراسة، فإذا أضفنا إلى ذلك ما كتب في البلاد العربية عن الأسلوب في العصر الحديث، وما كتبه أدباء العربية في كتبهم عن الأسلوب في العصور السالفة، نحصل على تراث ضخم عن الأسلوب. وتحاول هذه الدراسة أن تسهم مع غيرها من الدراسات في الحديث عن الأسلوبية بوصفها منهجا نقدياً، إذ تعد الأسلوبية مجالا من مجالات البحث المعاصر، يدرس النصوص الأدبية، محاولا الالتزام بالمنهج الموضوعي، فيحلل الأساليب، ويكشف عن قيمها الجمالية، منطلقاً من تحليل الظواهر اللغوية والبلاغية للنّص. والصلة بين الأسلوبية وعلوم اللغة والبلاغة والنقد الأدبي صلة وثيقة، إذ يتمم بعضها بعضاً، ونقطة الانطلاق لها في ذلك هي اللغة، وما تحتوي عليه من إيحاءات ودلائل، ومن هذا المنطلق تمحورت فصول هذه الدراسة حول القضايا الآتية: أولاً: مفهوم الأسلوب عند النقاد العرب القدامى والـمحدثين. ثانياً: الأسلوبية : تعريفها، نشأتها، وصلتها بعلم اللغة، والنقد الأدبي، والبلاغة. ثالثا: مناهج التحليل الأسلـوبي. رابعاً: ظواهر أسلوبية نقدية. خامساً: تطبيقـات.
