كما يسلط الكتاب الضوء على قصة انطلاق المقاومة العراقية، ويرصد عمليات المقاومة يوماً بيوم وعدد القتلى الذين سقطوا للقوات المحتلة على مدى الأشهر الثلاثة الأولى من الاحتلال، استناداً إلى بيانات وزارات الدفاع الأمريكية وغير الأمريكية، إضافة إلى تقارير مراسلي صحف ووكالات أنباء عالمية.
