في مجموعتها الشعرية هذه، تستعيد الشاعرة "عنقاد الروح" ثيمة الغراق التي شغلت الشعر العربي بدءاً من الوقوف على الأطلال إلى مطالع قصائد المديح التي عادة ما تبدأ بفراق الحبيب واستذكار ما حدث من دون نسيان اعتمالات الروح ورومانسية الماضي. وعلى هذا؛ احتوت عناوين الكتاب قصائد متناثرة، شكلت ثيمة الغراق/ الغياب/ الفقدان/ الخسارة الخيط الذي يجمع بين أجزاء المجموعة، فنجحت الشاعرة في اختيار المفردات الدالة على قسوة الفراق والخسران، والحزن الشديد. تقول في مطلع قصيدة عنونتها بـ(حزينة أنا)... حزينة أنا/ أفتح ضلوعي نافذة على الكون لأصرخ الاآآآآآآآه/ فتنشق الأرض صدوعاً وتصرخ السماء رعود/ حزينة أنا/ يصهل قلبي فزعاً ويقذف بوجع العشق أرضاً/ خيل تستنكر قسوة فارسها فتلقية وتصول (...)". من عناوين القصائد نذكر: "من أنا"، "الحب على رصيف الشرق"، "حداد الروح"، "سأرحل"، "نولد كل يوم ونموت"، "تعويذة العشق"...الخ.
