عبد العزيز صالح المَقالِح (1937 -)، أديب وشاعر وناقد يمني، ولد عام 1937 في قرية المقالح في محافظة إب وهو رئيس المجمع العلمي اللغوي اليمني. ويُعد في مقدمة شعراء اليمن المعاصرين، وأحد أبرز الشعراء العرب في العصر الحديث.
درس على مجموعة من العلماء والأدباء في مدينة صنعاء، تخرج من دار المعلمين في صنعاء عام 1960، وواصل تحصيله العلمي حتى حصل على الشهادة الجامعية عام 1970، في عام 1973 حصل درجة الماجستير في اللغة العربية وآدابها من كلية الآداب جامعة عين شمس ثم درجة الدكتوراه عام 1977 من نفس الجامعة، وترقى إلى الأستاذية عام 1987. تميزت كتابته بشيء من الكلاسيكية، لكنها سرعان ما انفتحت على الحداثة. عرف عنه كتابته لقصيدة أن يحرمونا يا حبيب الغرام وتغنى بها الفنان اليمني أحمد فتحي.

الكتاب الذي يتألف من 56 قصيدة، هو كناية عن قصيدة حب طويلة إلى صنعاء في نشيد تعلو نبرته وتتفرع أغصانه في أشعار ترمي إلى غناء صنعاء، وتفكيك طلاسم الأبجدية الحضارية لمدينة بقدر ما تبدو في متناول العين، فإنها تمضي في الغموض والسحر والعصيان. نبذة النيل والفرات: صنعاء... أغنية وألحان يعزفها على قيثارة روحه... الشاعر مفتون حتى الثمالة بفاتنته التي تسكن أعماق روحه... وهي صنعاء عاصمة الروح... تلك التي في أعماقها كنز مخبوء للحلم الماضي... وللحلم الآتي.. هي تلك الأسطورة وتلك الحضارة... تخرج من غسق الوقت سيدة في اكتمال الأنوثة... وتلك صنعاء الطالعة من غناء البنفسج... لتحملها مواويل شاعر متيم حتى النهاية... يصوغ لصفاء عقد من الآلئ الكلمات... وجواهر المعاني... ويضعها قصائد على صدر الزمن.
