يعدُّ هذا الكتاب حلقة ذهبية من الحلقات الأولى لعلم البلاغة . نحا فيه مؤلفه طريقة سهلة ميسَّرة ، راعى فيها الطلاب الأُول لهذا العلم ومن تعنَّى في تحصيله . فجاء الكتاب قريب المأخذ ، ليِّن العبارة ، دون لبس أو عناء ، فهو بداية للطالبين وتذكرة للمحصِّلين . وقد رتب الكتاب وقسمه على أركان هذا العلم الجليل ، فبدأ بعلم المعاني أولاً ، وثنَّى بالبيان ، وثلَّث بالبديع . وهو بهذا يكون قد أتى على أبحاث علم البلاغة ، وعلى غالب مصطلحاتها وأبوابها . ثم إنه وشَّى ذلك كله بالأمثلة والشواهد التي غالباً ما تدور في كتب هذا العلم ، ومكَّن هذه الأمثلة ودعَّمها بالتطبيقات التي لا بد منها من أجل توضيح القواعد واستجلاء مقاصدها . ثم حفَّز ذهن الطالب بشيءٍ من التمارين التي ترسِّخ المعلومات وتؤكد فهمها ، جاء بها في نهاية كل مبحث ، وبعد عقد إجابات عن مثلها . وقد خدم الكتاب خدمة جليلة ؛ إذ شكل شكلاً كاملاً ، وشرح ما قد يشكل منه ، واستدرك بأبحاث وأمثلة لا غنى عنها ، ووضعت له جداول توضيحية مفصلة تعين الدارس على الحفظ والفهم من جهة ، ومن جهة أخرى تعين على تصوير خريطة المبحث في ذهن القارىء والدارس . وعناية من دار المنهاج بعلوم العربية ، لا سيما باللبنات الأولى منها التي يعنى بها المبتدىء المحصِّل والمراجع المذاكر .. تَسرُّ بتقديم هذا الكتاب البديع في علم البلاغة ، منضمّاً إلى أخواته في تحقيق أرفع غايات التعليم النبيلة . سائلين المولى أن يكون لبنة طيبة في صرح هذا العلم الجليل ؛ إنه خير مسؤول .
