صحافي سعودي وُلد في المدينة المنورة عام 1958.
عمل في بداية مسيرته الصحافية مراسلا لصحيفة سعودي جازيت، ثم أصبح مراسلا لعدد من الصحف العربية اليومية والأسبوعية في الفترة الممتدة من 1987 إلى 1990.
وبعد تغطيته الأحداث في أفغانستان والجزائر والكويت والسودان والشرق الأوسط من العام 1991 حتى العام 1999، عُين في منصب نائب رئيس تحرير صحيفة آراب نيوز من 1999 إلى 2003، ثم تولى منصب رئيس تحرير صحيفة الوطن اليومية عام 2004 وشغل هذا المنصب لمدة (52) يوم فقط إذ تمت إقالته .
عمل منذ العام 2004 مستشاراً إعلاميّاً للأمير تركي الفيصل (السفير السعودي في لندن ومن ثم في واشنطن).
سبق أن التقى وأجرى مقابلات خاصة مع أسامة بن لادن في العديد من المناسبات قبل وقوع هجمات 11 سبتمبر.
إلى جانب عمله كمعلّق سياسي للقناة السعودية المحلية ومحطة "أم بي سي" و"بي بي سي" وقناة الجزيرة.
صدر قرار رسمي في نيسان/أبريل 2007 بإعادة تعيينه للمرة الثانية رئيساً لتحرير جريدة الوطن.
أرغم على الاستقالة من منصبه مجدداً في مايو 2010.
وتفاوتت مبررات هذا الحدث وإن كان البعض يرجح أنها بسبب نشر (الوطن ) لمقالة للكاتب إبراهيم الألمعي يتعرض فيها لفكر السلفية.

يروي هذا الكتاب قصة احتلال السوق السعودي من قبل العمالة الوافدة، وهذا الكتاب يطرح الآراء الجدلية. يدعو إلى تحرير السوق من الاعتماد على العمالة الأجنبية حتى ولو أدى ذلك إلى فوضى وتعطل للمصالح ولكنه يرى أن ذلك سيكون مؤقتاً. إذ سيضطر السعودي إلى استئناف العمل بعدما يتحرر من الإدمان والاعتماد على العمالة الأجنبية، فيراها " فوضى خلاقة يتبعها رخاء وسعادة ووظائف"... اعتمد المؤلف على إحصائيات دقيقة من وزارة العمل، ومقابلات مع وزيرها، ومشاهدات شخصية في أنحاء المملكة، وحديث الشباب ومنهم كاتب المقدمة محمد الناصري الذي أضاف أفكاراً إيجابية تتحدث بلسان حال الشاب الذي لا يريد وظيفة فقط بل يريد فرصة كاملة للمشاركة في صنع ثروات تفيده وتفيد الوطن ...
