يحتوي الكتاب على ثلاثة أبواب: الباب الأول يختص بعرض أنواع الإعاقات التي تصيب بعض أفراد سواء كانت إعاقات بدنية أو ذهنية أو حسية أو نفسية مع شرح لبعض نواحي القصور التي يعانيها المصاب، كذلك شرح موجز لأهمية ممارسة الأداء الحركي أو التأهيل الحركي لجميع أنواع الإعاقات للحد من تدهور الحالة، وكذلك لمردودها الإيجابي على الحالة النفسية والبدنية للمعاق أما الباب الثاني فيختص بعرض طرق القياس والتقويم لهذه الأنواع المختلفة للإعاقات : ليسهل بعد ذلك تحديد طريق العلاج الحركي ويحتوي الباب الثالث على مقدمة في علم التأهيل الحركي، ثم عرض لبعض النماذج من برامج التأهيل والتي طبقت على بعض المعاقين وأظهرت النتائج تأثيراتها الإيجابية على هذه الحالات
