إستيقظ العالم ذات صباح على غلاف مثير للعدد الجديد من مجلة(تايم) الأمريكية الواسعة الإنتشار يبشر- من خلال عنوان كبير يتصدره- بأن العالم منذ تلك اللحظة لن يبقي على حاله، والسبب عالم عبقري فذ، توصل لنظرية علمية جديدة، من شأنها أن تقلب حياة البشرية رأساً على عقب. كان عنوان المقال:(ثورة في العلم.. نظرية جديدة للكون)، في إشارة لنظرية(النسبية) للعالم الألماني ألبرت أينشتاين الذي أصبح منذ الكشف عنها أهم شخصية في العالم، وهدفاً لكل الأنظمة السياسية التي كانت تسعى لإستخدام عبقريته لبناء قدراتها النووية، التي أصبحت ممكنة بفضل نظريته الجديدة. وفي هذا الكتاب نتناول كل ما يتعلق بقصة حياة أينشتاين، هذا العالم العبقري، الأشهر بين علماء التاريخ، وبكل ما يتعلق بها من تفصيلات وأسرار جديدة تناولتها عشرات الكتب والمذكرات التي صدرت مؤخراً، في أعقاب إختيار أينشتاين شخصية القرن العشرين.
كما يقدم الكتاب موقف أينشتاين اليهودي من اليهود وقيام إسرائيل، ورفضه عرضاً برئاستها، وكذلك دوره في صناعة القنبلة الذرية، وعداء هتلر له، وإتصال الأمريكيين به، ومنحه الجنسية الأمريكية، وكذلك مواقفه وآراءه في الكون والحياة والدين، مع فصل خاص عن نظرية النسبية نتناولها بطريقة مبسطة، وأخيراً نقدم أينشتاين العالم والإنسان بكلماته هو عن نفسه.
