أحمد حسن علي القبانجي باحث وكاتب شيعي ليبرالي عراقي ولد في النجف في 2 يناير 1958.
ألف عديدا من الكتب كما ترجم عددا من كتابات المفكر الإيراني الدكتور عبد الكريم سروش.
درس في الحوزة الدينية في النجف منذ عام 1974 حيث درس الفقه والاصول على أساتذتها وغادر العراق عام 1979 في عهد صدام حسين إلى سوريا ولبنان واستقر في إيران حيث درس في قم، وتبلور فكره أثناء وجوده في إيران، وعاد عام 2008 إلى العراق.

في عمله المعنون (تهذيب أحاديث الشيعة) يتحرى الأستاذ "أحمد القبانجي" وبكثير من الموضوعية في أصل الأخبار والروايات والأحاديث الواردة عن أهل بيت النبوة ويبحث في سندها الصحيح من مصادرها الأصلية (مصادر الإمامية) وهي على التوالي 1- أصول الكافي للكليني، 2- كتب الصدوق، 3- وسائل الشيعة للحر العاملي، 4- بحار الأنوار للمجلسي.
وفي طريقه إلى توخي الحقيقة والكشف عن الروايات الموضوعة أي (الأحاديث الواردة عن أهل البيت حول وجود الكذب والجعل في الروايات) يستعرض الكاتب أقوال أساطين علماء الشيعة ومن رجالهم في هذا الموضوع ليوضح للقارىء جيدا .. أن علماء الشيعة أيضا يعترفون بهذا الأمر ولا ينكرونه".
ولمزيد من التفاصيل يضع الكاتب عمله في أربعة فصول يتناول الأول منها (نقد كتب الحديث) والثاني: (نقد أحاديث التفسير والزيارة) والثالث: (دراسات في نقد الحديث) ويضم ثلاثة مقالات: المقالة (1): قراءة نقدية للأحاديث/ حديث الكساء. المقالة (2): أحاديث موهومة في تفسير "مجمع البيان" لأبو جعفر، والمقالة (3): أحاديث موهومة في كتب أخرى/ كتاب المحكم والمتشابه. ورسالة المحكم والمتشابه والتفسير بالرأي. وأخيرا الفصل الرابع ويأتي في :(الموضوعات في الأخبار والآثار) مثل: النهي عن السب والشتم وأمثلة من الروايات في الفضائل، وموضوعات أخرى...
