في السفر سبع فوائد.. وفي هذا التاب رحلة طويلة عاشها الشاعر الكبير "فاروق جويدة" في بلاد إفريقية وأخرى آسيوية وثاثة أوربية. ولان الإنطباعات الولى دائما ما تحفر مكانها في الذاكرة .. ليبقى متحديا المحو والنسيان.. فقد سجل الشاعر رحلته الولى التى جادت بها الأيام له حين كان شابا غرا لا يملك بين دفتي عمره سوى أربعة وعشرين عامارحلة زادها روعة وخوف وتفاصيل كونها عبر البحر في سفينة عجوز تعيش أرذل عمرها، وفيها بات وأصبح وأمسى الشاعر أياما بين زرقة البحر والشاعرية وأمواجه ونواته وانقلاباته الليلية.. زار فيها بلاد إفريقية عديدة.. عرف منها تقاليد وعادات وانماط حياة مختلفة، ومع ان هذه الرحلة هى التى احتلت قلب الكتاب إر انها لم تكن الوحيدة. فكما زار الشاعر بلاد الغابات الإفريقية.. زار بلاد الهيمالايا.. ومنهما إجتمعت فذ ذاكرته مادة هذا الكتاب عن بلاد السحر والخيال.
