ها أنذا لا أزال في قسم الإنعاش،في يدي أنبوب الأوكسجين الذي لا يفارق أنفي .ويجب أن أبتعد عنه،لأن الإدمان عليه خطير.يجب أن أتنفس طبيعيا كما قال لي البروفسور نجمي. هناك في البعيد السيارات الذاهبة إلى الدار البيضاء الآتية منها إلى العاصمة. آذان العشاء معلنا الصلاة. الممرضان اللذان بقيا للإشراف على القسم يستعدان لمغادرته،ضمن هذا المستشفى،كل الناس تهرب إلا المرضى. فعندما تعلن ساعة خروج الموظفين،تراهم يتسابقون إلى الباب وكأنهم كذلك يريدون استنشاق الهواء. تصبح على خير أبا عروب،أتمنى أن أراك غدا في صحة جيدة.قال بدر الدين الممرض... وزاد السي محمد العسكري ،مكملا التحية بما طالب له،ثم خرجا. وجلست أنا وحدي مستيقظا.أما الآخرون فقد كان الكل منبطحا في فراشه لا يتحرك. والذي يختفني هو الصمت المرضى . فعندما يمر الممرض المكلف بالحراسة الليلية ويعطي الدواء يذهب ويطفئ الضوء،فيبقى الصمت والأنين. غدا سأخرج إن شاء الله،لأني شخص يتأثر بكل شيء ،يعاني من رؤيته للمرضى،ومن سماعه لأنينهم وتأوهاتهم.ولهذا يجب أن أرحل غدا.
