"... وهذا الحداثي القادم من أول "البؤرة" إلى آخر "الدلالة"، ومن لعنة الواقع إلى لوثة الجنون، هل استطاع أن يُكره الطبيعةَ على أن تُسْلم أسرارها؟ أم أن الطبيعة – اللغة استسرَّتْ عليه، وأرتجتْ أبوابها في وجهه، وغارتْ إلى الأعماق؟ وإذا كان الانتهاك شرطَ الحكمة، فإلى أي حدٍّ كان هذا الشعر انتهاكاً، وكان هذا الانتهاك مجوسياً، وكانت هذه الحكمةُ – الانتهاكُ جريمةً بحق اللغة؟" "... هو ذا نحن في عالمٍ عجيبٍ أقلُّ ما يقال فيه إن كل قطعةٍ منه عالمٌ قائمٌ بذاته؛عالمٌ حرٌّ لافوضويٌّ، متعددٌ لا واحديٌّ، عصيٌّ على التأطير والتحديد. ولكن الإيقاع يبقى – إلى جانب علاماتٍ أخرى – خصوصيّة الشعر، ويبقى الإيقاع الخفيُّ – إلى جانب علاماتٍ أخرى – خصوصيّة قصيدة النثر." "... قصيدة النثر ليست القصيدة التي تُكتب بالنثر، ولا القصيدة التي تمتح من النثر، إنما هي القصيدة التي تفرط حبات عِقدها، أو ما كان يمكن أن يكون عِقدها؛هي القصيدة التي تنثر عناصرَها كما اليد تنثر الحَبَّ في الأرض، لا كما ينتظم "القصيد" في خيطٍ متعارفٍ عليه". كل هذا وسواه تقرأه في هذا الكتاب الذي يتناول فيه شعرَ أحد ألمع شعراء جيله واحدٌ من ألمع نقّاد جيله.
