ولدت في لكيتو ـ بلد الباسك عام 1962. نالت جائزة النقد في عامي 2001 و2011 عن كتابيها الشعريين (علامة الجسد) و (زَبد في اليدين)، كذلك جائزة أدب الطفل الباسكية في ثلاث مناسبات. ككاتبة وشاعرة شاركت في ملتقيات ومهرجانات عالمية مثل مهرجان الأدب في دبلن 2003، مهرجان الأدب في سلوفينيا 2006، مهرجان إدنبره 2007، مهرجان أوربا الوسطى 2016 ومعرض الكتاب في ميامي 2016. في عام 2015 حازت على منحة التأليف والترجمة في نيويورك. ترجمت عن الفرنسية الى الباسكية العديد من كتب الشعر والرواية. عام 2018 حصلت على جائزة بلد الباسك للترجمة عن مجمل ترجماتها لأدب الطفل العالمية. حازت روايتها (عين زجاجية) التي نترجمها وننشرها هنا على جائزتين أدبيتين للأدب المكتوب باللغة الباسكية هما ثاثبيكالي وبيتريكو ليبروا، وترجمت إلى لغات عدة من بينها الإسبانية والفرنسية والإنكليزية. لماذا أتحدث عن كل هذا؟ إنه تحد قمت بطرحه لأن أحد الناشرين قد رمى لي بالطعم منذ وقت طويل. وهذا ما جعل التحدي ممتعاً.- هل تمزح معي؟ لا تقوله جاداً.- فكري في الأمر... قد تلهمك عينك الزجاجية شيئاً ما.- لو كان تفصيل عيني يجعل مني كاتبة، فليكن... لكن ... آه! أنت تتحدث بشكل مجازي، اليس كذلك؟ - إطلاقا. ألا تؤثر عليك أن تكوني بعين واحدة في حياتك اليومية؟ اكتبي عن ذلك، لكن افعلي ذلك كما لو كنت تستخدمين شفرة حلاقة. شيء واحد يجب أن نأخذه بعين الاعتبار. لقد تحدثت إلى الناشر المعني منذ فترة قصيرة. لقد علقت على الحبكة أعلاه: "محور السرد هو العاطفة المكسورة، والعين الزجاجية، رمز. كما تعلم، إنها سمة معينة ستمثلها خيباتي".
