تعدّ رسائل نابليون بونابرت ٳلى زوجته جوزفين من أجمل رسائل الحب في الأدب العالمي حيث تبرز العواطف الصادقة لهذا القائد العسكري الفذّ حيال المرأة التي أحبها من النظرة الأولى وتعلّق بها أشدّ التعلق كما تدلّ على ذلك هذه الرسائل التي نقدّم ترجمتها كاملةً ٳلى العربية. كانت “جوزفين” واسمها الأصلي “روز تاشر” أرملة جنرال أُعدم في عهد الٳرهاب في مرحلة الثورة الفرنسية ونجت هي من المقصلة بتدخّل بعض الأصدقاء النافذين لتجد نفسها أرملة وأمّاً لشاب وحيد هو “أوجين” وبنت هي “هروتانس” مع لقب فخم ورثته عن زوجها هو “فيكونتيسة البوهاماس”. أواخر تشرين الأول 1795 التقت هذه الأرملة ذات الشخصية الجذابة والبالغة من العمر اثنين وثلاثين عاماً الجنرال الشاب نابليون بونابرت الذي لم يتجاوز السادسة والعشرين من العمر في حفل أقامته في قصرها على شرف الجنرال الذي قدّم لٳبنها معروفاً أردات أن تشكره عليه. ستقرأ هنا، عزيزنا القاري، مراسلات لا تتكرر بسهولة، مثل حدث نادر يصادفك مرة في العمر.
