تتنزل هذه الأطروحة البحثية في إطار التشابكات الإبستمولوجية بين التيارات الحداثية والمذاهب النقدية التقليدية في سياق مقارن يهدف لدراسة وتحليل نصوص المجموعة القصصية الموسومة نهار الظباء للكاتبة الإماراتية الواعدة فاطمة حمد المزروعي؛ من أجل الوقوف على أهميتها الفنية باعتبارها إضافة مهمة للأدب الإماراتي، علاوة على إماطة اللثام عن الطرائق السردية والتقنيات الأسلوبية والثيمات السوسيوتاريخية التي تكتنف الرؤية الإبداعية للكاتبة، بهدف وضع هذه المجموعة القصصية في مكانها اللائق على خارطة الأدب العربي المعاصر، ومن أجل استنطاق النصوص موضوع الدراسة سعى الباحث لتوظيف عدة مقاربات نقدية في سياقات تراثية وحداثية محددة استهدفت قراءة النصوص من اتجاهات نقدية متعددة لرصد أبنيتها السردية والحكائية وإلقاء الضوء على الفضاءات الأسلوبية والثيمات النصية التي تجسد قوام النصوص شكلًا وموضوعًا. ونظرًا لوجود العديد من أوجه التشابه في الشكل والمضمون بين قصص: نهار الظباء ونصوص قصصية مماثلة لأدباء أميركيين معروفين على الساحة العالمية من أمثال وليام فوكنر وأليس ووكر وكيت شوبن سعت الدراسة لعقد مقاربات نقدية مقارنة بين بعض سرديات المزروعي والقصص القصيرة الأميركية ذات الصلة؛ من أجل إبراز الرؤية الفنية للكاتبة التي تجاوزت الفضاءات المحلية والإقليمية لتلامس حدود الأسطورة والميثولوجيا الحداثية التي جسدتها أعمال مماثلة في الأدب الغربي المعاصر .
