الكتاب جاء في ثلاثة أقسام؛ القسم الأوّل كان بمثابة تحقيق لهذه المذكِّرات الجديدة، وبيان تلفيق المذكِّرات الرّائجة عن الريحاني. ثم جاء القسم الثاني بعنوان “مذكرات نجيب الرِّيحاني زعيم المسرح الفكاهي” وهو يعرض المذكِّرات الجديدة في ستة فصول مذيلة بكلمة المحرر. أما القسم الثالث فهو عبارة عن “آراء ومقالات في الريحاني” ويتناول المقالات التي تعرضت بالنقد لشخصية الريحاني، وكذلك المقالات التي أوفت الفنان حقه. وتتميزُ المذكِّرات بأسلوب جذَّاب وسلسل في العرض، فلا يقتصر الأمر على الطرائف التي يسوقها الريحاني وإن كانت من جوهر حياته وليست دخيلة عليه، وإنما أيضا عبر أسلوبه المرح حتى وهو يسرد عن أقسى المواقف في حياته، علاوة على وعيه التام لشدّ القارئ إليه الذي يضعه أمامه عينيه ويخاطبه.
