هذا الكتاب للأستاذ فتحي أبو رفيعة يمكن وصفه بأنه نقد حداثيٌّ عن أعمال حداثية، ولذلك لم يكن من الغريب أن يُطلِقَ فتحي أبو رفيعة على كتابه «أشكال الحداثة في الرواية العربية»، فهو يتناول أعمالًا خارجةً عن المألوف أو المعتاد، بعضها يفيد من الواقعية السحرية، لكنه لا يستوردها من الخارج، وإنما يعثر عليها في تراثه الديني الخاصِّ بِسِيَرِ الأولياء، كما فعل عمَّار علي حسن في «شجرة العابِد». وبعض هذه الروايات يحاول أن يصوغ تشكيلًا أوبراليًّا من أوجاع المنفى، وانفراط عِقْدِ العمر، كما يفعل أمجد ناصر في روايته «حيث لا تسقط الأمطار»، بينما يلجأ البعض الثالث إلى نوع من الكرنـﭬاليَّةِ الصَّاخِبَةِ، كما يفعل جميل عطية إبراهيم في «شهر زاد على بحيرة چنيف»، ويُراوِحُ البعضُ الرابع بين متاهة النص وغواية السرديَّات الكبرى، كما يفعل عزت القمحاوي في «بيت الديب»، والبعض الخامس يلجأ إلى شعرية القُبح وخشونة الواقع السرديِّ، كما يفعل صنع الله إبراهيم في «التلصُّص»، أمَّا سعد القرش فإنه يصوغ سرديَّةً ثوريَّةً تستحقُّ التحية، أمَّا عز الدين شكري في «عناق عند جسر بروكلين»، فإنه يصوغ مرثيَّةً للأبطال الذين فاتهم قطار الربيع العربي، فظلُّوا متوحِّدين يواجهون غروبَ الحياة ومَقْدِم الظلام، ويبقى محمد توفيق في «فتاة الحَلوى» حيث يصفه فتحي أبو رفيعة بأنه عالَمٌ افتراضي، يُراوِحُ بين ساحة الهروب من الواقع، وإدانة للثورة. أ. د. جابر عصفور
