"لم أر في حياتي طفلا كهذا" قالت لينا وذهبت لتنام على كنبتها ثائرة من الغضب، هذا في حين كان إميل يسبح مع ألفريد في بحيرة كاتهوات محاطين بزنابق الماء البيضاء وفي السماء يتلألأ القمر التموزي الأحمر كالمصباح، "أنا وأنت يا ألفريد" قال إميل. "نعم أنا وأنت يا إميل" قال ألفريد.
وكان القمر يرسم بشعاعه ما يشبه دربا عريضا في الماء أما الشواطئ المجاورة فكانت معتمة، فقد جاء الليل وانتهى يوم 28 تموز "فليساعدني الرب على هذا الصبي" كتبت والدة إميل في دفتر مذكراتها "ولكنه سيصير شخصا مهما إذا عاش وكبر خلافا لما يظنه والده"
كانت أم إميل على صواب وكان أبوه مخطئا فقد عاش إميل حتى كبر وصار رئيس بلدية لنبريا ومن أحلى شبانها ولكن فلنركز الآن على ما حدث في سوق فمربي، ذات مرة عندما كان إميل صغيرا .
